Learn to Ride

Learn to Ride is a series of school-based sessions designed to teach children the fundamental skills needed to ride a bike. These fun and engaging sessions involve games on suitable bikes to develop balance, handling, and awareness. Learn to Ride is aimed at pupils in Year 3 and Year 4.

Our Learn to Ride course includes three sessions (approximately 30 minutes each during school hours) for each group of children. It is typically delivered over three days by our qualified National Standards Instructors. These courses are run by Take Pride CIC under the registered scheme name Activriders. Bikes and helmets are provided.

By using our bikes, we ensure that all equipment is suitable and safe for every child. The course helps children progress to riding a bike without stabilizers. It provides a positive early experience on two wheels and equips them with the skills they need to participate in our Bikeability course, which is usually delivered in Years 5 and 6.

All children will receive a certificate upon completing the course, indicating the level they have achieved.
